About Troop 39

Boy Scouts of America Troop 39 is located in Palmdale California and is one of the oldest Troops of the Antelope Valley District of the Western Los Angeles County Council. The troop has a history of more than 35 years beginning with the First Baptist Church of Lancaster as it's Chartering Organization.

Boy Scouts, including Troop 39, is set up so that the troops are run by the scouts with adult supervision, assistance and guidance. The Troop is well supported through it's active parents and adult volunteers, known as Scouters.

Scout Leadership consists of the Patrol Leaders Council, the Patrol leaders and the Senior Scouts, who plan and run the troop. The Troop is divided into  patrols of 5 to 8 Scouts led by a Patrol Leader who is a Senior Scout. The Senior Scouts are the experienced, older and trained Boys Scouts of the Troop. The Patrols have a Patrol Leader, Assistant Patrol Leader, Troop Guide, Instructor and Patrol Advisor to assist with troop activities.

Troop 39 has a year round outings program. Every month there is an overnight outing planned. This rigorous outing program helps to keep all the Scouts active in the Troop, plus provides the Scouts with a opportunity for fun, new skills and advancement.
